I’ve been stalked lately by the question ‘What ONE creative thing will I focus on getting really good at? ‘

Whoa!! Back up – what do you mean – ONE???????

I don’t know about anyone else, but I have an accumulated stack of creative projects that are ALL  saying ‘Pick me! Pick me!’ Sigh.

Truth is, I’m sick of being pulled here, there, & yonder, by my unwillingness to say NO, to all but ONE of these wonderful, imagined, creative projects.

The above photo is a collaged & edited note to myself (made from Austin Kleon notes), that pointed me in what felt like the right direction –

1. ‘ What do I want to make?’ FOR ME, not anything, or anyone else. Which led me to ask –  ‘What do I LOVE to make?’

Turns out that’s a no brainer to me! That ONE thing that lights me up like a Christmas tree- all sparkly & full of colour, is creating PATTERN collages with my photos!

2. Next – a reality slap. ‘YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT YOUR WORK’. Wow. That short statement feels like such a kick in the butt …..yikes! So am I serious then? Or am I going to keep being uncommitted? Dabbling?

Nope. I’m done with dabbling. I’m serious about my pattern photo collages. More than anything else, that’s the ONE thing I really want to spend dedicated time making, becoming better skilled at, refining & taking to the next level.

Wow. Yep, I’m definitely serious about that – time to get to work!
