I love to wander. That’s not to say I‘m lost. I’m not. I just love losing myself in the journey of seeking whatever it is to be found. Like in my doodle above, starting from a scribble, it gradually transforms into the doodle you see beside it. The scribble is the start point. The result is totally unplanned!
Results are irrelevant here. It’s the journey that’s the point, just relaxing & taking my time…taking whatever is the next step…. & letting the results take care of itself.
J R R Tolkien has been quoted as saying ‘Not all who wander are lost’. I agree. From my experience of doodling, I believe that to wander, is to seek. You just don’t know what it is you are seeking, until you find it!
It’s a bonkers way of living. There’s no ‘know for certain’ destination… well, except that it’s my personal version of a creative good life…. & it involves letting go getting anywhere specific….. & totally being in whatever the next single step is….until I arrive (somewhere!)
It’s why I love doodling! It reminds me to let go, relax into the moment… enjoy the journey. Doodling isn’t to get me anywhere at all…it’s to keep me on the journey.
