I just had to quickly share the above progress ‘chart’ with you!
It’s on page 181 of Marie Forleo’s book ‘Everything is Figureoutable’ – https://www.fishpond.co.nz/Books/Everything-Figureoutable-Marie-Forleo/9780241341032
& when I saw it, I burst out laughing – I could so relate to that visual illustration!
No matter what anybody tells you – progress is NOT LINEAR – gradually rising up. No, no, no! Don’t ever fall for that lie!!
My personal experience is exactly what I see in that squiggly line, going left, right, backwards, forwards, up, down, touring around a side road, & I can honestly say, I’ve even flat lined for awhile!
OMG. I LOVE THAT PICTURE so much! Why? Because that really is the reality of progress, & it was my personal experience with my ragdoll shop, Tinkadoodle!
After I finished laughing, I had a bit of a cry too. For a long time, I really believed there was something wrong with me – because my experience of progress did not match that straight line, gradually rising upward. Not even a little bit. I cried because I’m just so glad, & relieved, to now know that what I experienced was the REAL thing – not that ‘expected’ false diagram everyone else waved at me!
Apparently, there was actually nothing ‘wrong’ with my experience at all. Good to know :o)
