Better things falling together

“Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together”. Marilyn Monroe.

It’s been one year since I started this blog & website. One year since I completed my Learning Connexion Advanced Diploma. One year since I really wondered ‘what’s next?’. I mean – what do I DO now? Without the framework of the Learning Connexion programme, I felt like I was adrift. Gulp. Again, & again, the question “What now?” kept stalking me. Ok. Ok. I get it. I guess I now have to figure out a ‘what’s next?’ framework / programme myself, for myself. I can do that! (I think). Little did I know how long it would take me to figure it out!

The short story of the last one year is this:

Freak out. OMG. What am I going to do now???? Ok. Calm the farm. What do I WANT to do now? Cue lots of time mulling over ‘what do I want to do’, versus filtering that through the sieve of what I perceive will be ‘acceptable’ / ‘good enough’ – to the world out there. Sigh. How can I really know that? Guesswork – & seeing if it’s already been stamped ‘approved’- you know –  someone has done it & succeeded already. Sigh. That sucks! Insight – so what actually matters to me? Cue ‘Project vw’  – a one page document to check into – to remind me what’s my own path. Next – pay big bucks to invest in a course called ‘ Make Art Work ‘ by Emily Jeffords, to move me closer to where I want to go next. Folks, this was a LIFE CHANGING event! Thanks to Emily I’m now fully reconnected to the creativity / art I LOVE to make!  I’ve not only reclaimed it, but am able to lovingly embrace it like the long lost friend I haven’t had around in years (true btw). Oh how I’ve missed doodling, collage, & using my craft skills! Cue the realization of how much I have also missed my tinkadoodle ragdoll shop in Wellington, which I was financially forced to close (due to consequences of the last recession!) in Dec 2010. Perhaps I can build a new ‘tinkadoodle’ from the best bits of my previous ‘tinkadoodle’ experience? YES! I can do that!

So today I am building a second version of tinkadoodle, upon the loss of my original one. I’m bringing the spirit & love of my ragdolls to my art & pattern making. Woohooo!!! I’ve always wanted to ‘tinkadoodle’ again, but not as a product maker – or as a commercial business. No, no, no! THIS TIME it’s as a crafter /artist, crafting patterns from my handmade art! I’m sooo excited to be pulling all the threads of this new ‘tinkadoodle’ enterprise together – creating a completely new website, showing the ART I LOVE to make, & sharing the ‘tinkadoodle’ creative process I’ll ‘spend’ the rest of my life DOING. Wow. It really is going to be AMAZING. And totally ME. Finally! :o)

Can’t wait to have it all online, & begin fully living a ‘tinkadoodle’ creative way of life again!!!
